Quels sont les albums rocks prévus et anticipés pour 2026? Voici une liste d’albums déjà annoncés qui ont une date de sortie, d’autres dont on sait qu’ils sortiront dans la prochaine année et finalement, quelques espoirs offerts par des artistes rock dans les derniers mois. (Source : UCR)

La liste des nouvelles sorties musicales prévues pour 2026 comprend les projets studio confirmés de Joe Jackson, Megadeth et Squeeze, ainsi qu’une réédition massive en coffret de Yes. Des éditions vinyle d’albums live sont également en préparation, notamment ceux de Van Halen et Cream.

Toujours aussi audacieux, Jackson prépare son premier album rock depuis 2019. Hope and Fury fait suite à What a Racket! (2023), qui présentait des compositions de music-hall enregistrées avec un orchestre de 12 musiciens.

Megadeth sortira son dernier album éponyme, qui comprendra une reprise de Ride the Lightning de Metallica. Le leader du groupe Megadeth, Dave Mustaine, a écrit une partie de la chanson avant de quitter Metallica en 1983.

Qui sortira de nouveaux albums rock en 2026 ?

Le nouvel album de Squeeze, Trixies, comprendra des morceaux composés par Chris Difford et Glenn Tilbrook avant la sortie du premier album du groupe.

Lindsey Buckingham (ex-Fleetwood Mac) travaille également sur un nouveau projet pour 2026, mais il n’a pas encore révélé le titre ni la date de sortie de l’album. Parmi les autres projets confirmés sans date de sortie, citons Orphan Train de John Mellencamp, Operation: Mindcrime III de l’ancien leader de Queensryche Geoff Tate, This Is Your Reality d’Alda Nova et Aviana d’Asia Featuring John Payne.

Le calendrier des rééditions de cette année est dominé par un coffret super-deluxe de 12 CD/Blu-ray retraçant l’album phare de Yes sorti en 1973, Tales From Topographic Oceans, avec un nouveau remix de Steven Wilson et des enregistrements studio et live inédits.

Un coffret de 4 CD commémorera également le 40e anniversaire du premier album éponyme de 1985 de The Power Station, un supergroupe composé du chanteur Robert Palmer, de Tony Thompson de Chic et de John Taylor et Andy Taylor de Duran Duran.

Les espoirs d’albums promis par la légende des Beach Boys Brian Wilson (Cows in the Pasture) et l’ancien cofondateur de Kiss Ace Frehley (Origins, Vol. 3) ont peut-être été anéantis lorsque tous deux sont décédés en 2025. Frehley était apparemment bien avancé dans le processus, ayant mentionné une sortie possible au printemps en septembre. U2 a également laissé Songs of Ascent sur les étagères pendant des années. Ils rejoignent la longue liste des albums à venir ou dont il y a rumeur d’une sortie.
